Innovative programming will pair familiar works by J.S. Bach and Schubert with delightful but rarely heard treasures by Haydn and Mozart and often overlooked craftsmen C.P.E. Bach and Martinu. The orchestra’s dedication to American music is reflected in four interesting and approachable works by leading composers Reich, Daugherty, Bolcom and Hoiby. In addition, the GCO’s “Chamber Symphonies” recording will be released in early 2012. Following the terrific success of 2010-11, this is a season you won’t want to miss!
